THE DEEP SITTING — PARTICIPATION CONDITIONS
Version: 19 October 2026
These Participation Conditions apply to a paid booking for THE DEEP SITTING. The provider is the person or business identified in the Legal Notice / Impressum of adwoatheresa.com (the Provider).
1. Nature of THE DEEP SITTING
THE DEEP SITTING is a live spiritual and contemplative group encounter held in sustained silence and inward attention. It is not healthcare, psychotherapy, psychological treatment, diagnosis, trauma work, coaching, consultation, medical treatment, bodywork or a conventional psychic reading. It is not entertainment or spectacle.
No healing, transformation, revelation, awakening, release, message, spiritual attainment or other particular result is promised or guaranteed. A participant's experience remains their own.
2. Formats
THE DEEP SITTING is offered in two forms:
- Online: approximately three hours, live in a private digital room.
- In Person: approximately six hours, including a silent interval for rest and nourishment, at a specifically stated physical location.
Each Sitting is limited to a maximum of eight confirmed participants.
3. Request, selection and contract formation
Submitting a participation request is non-binding. It does not constitute a booking, an acceptance, a purchase or a payment obligation.
Requests may be accepted or declined by reference to the format of THE DEEP SITTING, including whether the person understands the nature of the Sitting, is willing to observe the silence and conduct requirements, and can participate without deliberately disrupting the shared space. No medical or psychological screening is undertaken.
If a request can be taken forward, the Provider sends a private booking offer for a specific Sitting. The offer states at least the date, time, format, total consumer price, material inclusions, applicable Participation Conditions and the period for which the offer remains open.
A contract is formed only when the participant accepts that private booking offer through the designated payment-obligation pathway and successfully completes the required payment process.
After contract formation, the participant receives confirmation of the contract and the applicable contractual information on a durable medium.
4. Price
The applicable participation fee, payment arrangements and confirmation deadline are communicated individually in the written private offer before any payment obligation arises. Submitting a participation request creates no payment obligation.
Consumer-facing prices are total prices and include legally applicable VAT and mandatory price components to the extent required by law.
There are no discounts, sliding scales or promotional rates unless expressly introduced by the Provider in a future offer.
5. Minimum participation and event confirmation
A minimum of four confirmed participants is required for a Sitting to proceed.
For an in-person Sitting, the Provider confirms whether the minimum has been reached no later than 60 days before the stated date.
For an online Sitting, the Provider confirms whether the minimum has been reached no later than 30 days before the stated date.
If the required minimum has not been reached by the applicable confirmation deadline, the Provider will cancel the Sitting. Any participation fee already paid for that Sitting will then be refunded in full.
Once a Sitting has been confirmed as proceeding, a later cancellation by an individual participant does not by itself cause the Sitting to be cancelled for the remaining confirmed participants.
6. In-person destination, venue and hospitality
The exact destination, venue and arrival information are stated in the private booking offer or subsequent practical confirmation.
For an in-person Sitting, the participation fee includes the private Sitting itself, the event venue for the stated duration, a silent lunch catered by the venue, and ordinary non-alcoholic refreshments such as water and tea, unless the private booking offer expressly states otherwise. The lunch is part of the in-day event hospitality and is not sold as accommodation, transport or a separate travel service.
Accommodation is not sold as part of THE DEEP SITTING. Where a preferred hotel arrangement, room rate, booking code or booking link is provided, the participant books and pays the accommodation provider directly and enters into a separate contract with that provider.
Flights, trains, transfers, local transport, excursions and other travel arrangements are not included in the participation fee and are not arranged by the Provider. They remain the participant's responsibility and, where booked, are contracted directly with the relevant third party.
Participants should not make non-refundable third-party travel or accommodation arrangements before receiving confirmation that the Sitting is proceeding.
Where dietary or allergen information is required for the included lunch, participants may be directed to provide that information directly to the catering venue where practicable, so that unnecessary health-related information is not collected by the Provider. The catering venue remains responsible for the food service it performs and for the food/allergen information it is legally required to provide.
7. Contractual cancellation by the participant
For an in-person Sitting, a participant may use the contractual cancellation option until more than 60 days before the stated start date.
For an online Sitting, a participant may use the contractual cancellation option until more than 30 days before the stated start date.
Where a contractual cancellation is made within the applicable period, the participation fee paid will be refunded subject only to any contractual cancellation or administrative compensation that is lawfully recoverable. Any such amount is limited to the lower of €100 or the legally recoverable amount. The participant is expressly entitled to demonstrate that no loss or a materially lower loss occurred.
After the applicable contractual cancellation deadline, no additional contractual cancellation or rescheduling right is granted. Mandatory statutory termination, withdrawal or other consumer rights, where they apply and cannot lawfully be excluded, remain unaffected.
A request to move to another Sitting is treated as a new participation request unless the Provider expressly agrees otherwise in writing.
8. Non-attendance and late arrival
Failure to attend does not by itself constitute a contractual cancellation. Where the Provider remains ready and able to provide the booked Sitting, the agreed participation fee remains payable to the extent permitted by applicable law. Any amount that must legally be credited because of saved expenses or substitute use will be credited.
Late arrival does not extend the scheduled duration of the Sitting. If admission after the Sitting has begun would materially disturb the group, entry may be refused for that Sitting.
9. Statutory withdrawal rights
Paid bookings are made for a specifically identified Sitting on a specific date and time and with a fixed participant capacity.
To the extent the statutory exception for services connected with leisure activities provided on a specific date or during a specific period under § 312g(2) No. 9 BGB applies, no statutory right of withdrawal exists for that booking. This does not remove any statutory right that cannot legally be excluded.
Contractual cancellation rights, where granted, are separate from statutory withdrawal rights.
10. Provider cancellation and rescheduling
If the Provider cancels a Sitting and the participant does not accept an expressly offered replacement date, the participation fee actually paid for that Sitting will be refunded.
If circumstances outside the Provider's reasonable control prevent the Sitting from taking place as contracted, the Provider may propose a replacement date or, where appropriate, cancel the Sitting. If no replacement is accepted, the participation fee paid is refunded.
For an in-person Sitting, a venue may be replaced where reasonably necessary provided the date, destination or immediate region, duration, essential character and overall standard of the Sitting are materially preserved. If a materially different destination is proposed instead, the participant may decline it and receive a refund of the participation fee paid.
Third-party travel, accommodation and transport contracts remain separate from the participation contract and are governed by the terms of the relevant third party and mandatory law.
11. Silence, conduct and shared space
Participants agree to observe the contemplative form of the Sitting. This includes sustained silence, inward attention and minimal external stimulation.
Unnecessary conversation, whispering, joking, digital distraction, deliberate interruption and deliberate or repeated conduct reasonably likely to draw other participants' attention away from the Sitting are not part of the form.
Phones and smartwatches should remain away from use except where genuinely necessary. During an online Sitting, microphones remain muted during silent periods and no additional unconfirmed person may watch, listen to or participate in the room.
Quiet authentic emotion is not misconduct and does not require explanation, interpretation or social response from other participants.
12. Bodily autonomy
THE DEEP SITTING does not require forced immobility or endurance of pain or physical distress.
A participant may change posture, open their eyes, drink water, stand, stretch quietly, use the restroom, step away or end participation when genuinely needed. No explanation is required for leaving.
Each participant remains responsible for their own bodily autonomy, boundaries and decision whether to continue.
13. Recording, privacy and access
Audio recording, video recording, screen recording, screenshots, photography or any other reproduction of the Sitting, its participants or its private digital room is prohibited unless the Provider has expressly authorised it in advance.
Access links and private venue information are personal to confirmed participants and must not be shared with another person.
14. Ending a participant's attendance
Where conduct is correctable and not serious, the Provider will ordinarily give a clear instruction or warning first.
Material or repeated disruption after a warning may result in participation being ended. A sufficiently serious breach may justify immediate removal where a warning would not reasonably protect the participants, venue or integrity of the Sitting.
Removal does not create an automatic penalty or automatic forfeiture rule beyond what is legally recoverable. Payment consequences are determined under these Conditions and applicable law.
15. Technical requirements for online Sittings
The participant is responsible for a stable internet connection and a device capable of joining the private digital room. Access to a functioning camera is required for arrival and closing where stated in the booking information. Technology should remain secondary and largely untouched during the silent periods.
A technical failure solely within the participant's own equipment or connection does not automatically extend or repeat the Sitting. Mandatory legal rights remain unaffected.
16. Liability
The Provider is liable without limitation where liability cannot lawfully be limited, including for intent and gross negligence and for injury to life, body or health as provided by mandatory law.
For simple negligence, liability is limited, where legally permissible, to breach of essential contractual duties and to the foreseeable damage typical of the contract. Mandatory statutory liability remains unaffected.
The €100 ceiling in section 7 applies only to contractual cancellation or administrative compensation described there. It is not a blanket limitation of legally mandatory liability.
17. No side promises
Only the service, inclusions and commitments stated in the private booking offer, these Participation Conditions and the contract confirmation form part of the contractual commitment unless a later individual written agreement expressly modifies them.
No spiritual, personal, therapeutic, financial, relationship or other outcome forms part of the contractual performance.
18. Governing law and jurisdiction
German law applies to the contractual relationship. Mandatory consumer protections that cannot lawfully be displaced by a choice of law remain unaffected.
The place of jurisdiction is Germany wherever a jurisdiction agreement is legally permissible.
19. Consumer dispute resolution
The Provider is neither willing nor obliged to participate in dispute-resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.
Wir sind weder bereit noch verpflichtet, an Streitbeilegungsverfahren vor einer Verbraucherschlichtungsstelle teilzunehmen.
No voluntary arbitration or alternative dispute-resolution mechanism is agreed by these Participation Conditions.
20. Final provision
If an individual provision is or becomes ineffective, the remaining provisions remain unaffected to the extent permitted by law. The ineffective provision is replaced by the applicable statutory rule.
